RH2 designed a complete roadway rebuild through the NE 185th Street corridor from approximately Bothell Way NE to Beardslee Boulevard to prepare for Sound Transit’s rapid transit, including new fiber optic cabling, sidewalks with planter strips, and ADA ramps. RH2 also evaluated utilities and coordinated replacement or rehabilitation for water, sewer, and stormwater mains. The east section of the corridor had soft peat soils which required a unique pavement design section using lightweight cellular concrete fill to support expected transit traffic loading.

The project was completed by Fall of 2024, and met the City’s contracted schedule with Sound Transit.
